current odds to make the playoffs stands at 8% (it was at 5% last week). So based off of that, what's next for the Dolphins will be for all of them to start making off-season plans and to practice their golf swings....dont worry, next year will be different *rolls eyes*
@@mroverdose14 and probably would had been the case this year too if Tua didn't get injured but just like the previous two years, they would had been bounced out of the playoffs quite quickly. the team is not designed for playoff football.
@@The_Zilli It's because we have a soft environment in Miami. It's a laid back, don't work hard type of atmosphere. We're a joke from the owner all the way on down.
A broken clock really is right twice a day. Grier/McDaniel actually did the right thing! I was glad I was sitting down when I read Chubb won’t be activated. I almost fainted. The last thing we and he needed was to get injured again by coming back too soon. . Hi Jaelen Phillips! Keep Chubb fresh for next season so he’s ready to hit the ground running for training camp. God knows we are going to need him.
It seems that we have an opportunity for not insurmountable difficulties via the cap. If we can max restructure, it gives us a viable option for next season to insure a good pass rush, without hammering us in the out years. 14 mil for a player of his ceiling is reasonable. I know it’s easier and potentially more satisfying to cut and run, but that’s what we’ve done poorly in the past. It bothers me that Brandon Jones is playing much better in Denver, but that stuff happens everywhere - it just FEELS like it only happens to us! Thanks, Kyle.
How insulting this excuse is by the McDaniel/Grier regime. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows they’re holding him out because they’re going to cut him to save over 20 million against the cap next year.
Id only want them to trade if it was for like a 3rd otherwise Id would rather they just restructure and keep him for another year. The only player id really like to see traded is HIll
Did you maybe stop to think that the reason Chubb was not brought into the roster was because Chubb is not physically ready to fulfill all his roles and Ogba can set the edge consistentl
No way we are able to pay and keep Chubbs or Phillips. Just sucks that we could have had one heck of a rotation with our Edges. Grier needs to be fired as soon as we miss the Playoffs!
If they didn't give away Brandon Jones and Van ginkle for a bucket of chicken wings this team would be in a way better position to make the playoffs then they are now currently.
Y'all have no foresight. Jones was universally pegged as being overpaid (tho I liked him, he utterly didn't fit this scheme as he's a much more competent box safety kind of like what poyer has become at this point in his career.... Just TRIPLE the cost) Van Gink was hurt remember LIKE CONNOR (who ended up retiring even tho he came back with the Seahawks) and he had a chance to go to a better scheme fit, home, and more money with the Vikes. Oh btw AVG has gone MIA for over a month now. He's a rotational pass rusher and we were in a tight cap situation
@mroverdose14 when they did not resign Van Ginkle the fans felt it. A lot of fans might not know the talent of Brendan Jones because injuries plagued his career in Miami. He had one really good year with Miami under Flores. It's just one of many problems this regime has. How do you not resign your own guy. They chose to sign Poyer over Jones You can put it in the bucket of bad s*** Miami has done over the course of the organization's career
@dolphin1346 I'm sorry but Jones is a box safety that has/had under develop cover skills. Admittedly he improved in his coverage last year but it was still that of a backup in the league. His trigger was late and his angles weren't great (I played this position and corner in college.....I was a more explosive athlete) Thought he was a good player but he was also paid nearly FOUR TIMES what we gave poyer so I wasn't mad at it. AVG for the life of me isn't a starter and it showed when he played. He was always a situational pass rusher that can get after the QB but we ended up getting Chop who was suppose to fill that role with FAR MORE up side. Barrett hurts cause he was a better player than AVG with Chubb and Phillips coming back (Phillips they knew was nearly healthy). This was the plan to improve. Fans are short-sighted and can't see the forest for the trees. Like think about it Philips healthy and Barrett starting on the other side with a young rookie in Chop...... Where does AVG even play? He's not even a Full time starter in the Minnesota defense. Jones was a cap move. AVG is overrated in our fan base cause of the splash plays. Neither are bad players but both had limited upside to become starters or stars. Jones is playing like a starter but do you believe he's going to play at this level for the rest of his career with limited athleticism?! Not to mention his current salary. Even the salary AVG got from Minnesota show what they thought of him, paying him a borderline starter/rotational player's salary for only a year. They didn't think enough of him to give him multiple years or long a contract. Don't fans complain about being mediocre and a borderline playoff team? Do you think they get this team over the hump? If anything it would be more of the same. We have a water down pass rush cause of injuries and retirement. we probably would have been in the same spot if we decide to keep those players over getting players like Chop. Fans are short sighted and emotional.
This move ALSO signals the organization has given up on the season... Because if they make the playoffs.. We are gonna wish we had Bradley Chub playing opposite of Chop Robinson in Buffalo!!! Again, Grier stupidly overthinking shit, for some nebulous future cap move, at the expense of the team on the field!!!
I agree if Chubb is truly healthy enough to play at the level that he's traditionally been capable of. I don't know if he is or isn't, but preserving $10M in case of injury vs. playing him as a potential big difference maker (again, if he's presently capable of playing at that level) is a risk they should have taken to signal to the team they've not given up on the season.
I think.we would all want Chubb back but paying him 20+ million is ridiculous. He wasn't a 20 million dollar player before the injury. They signed Sieler for 10 million. That's a good contracr. What I'm concerned about, other than the 25 holes on the roster, is either Grier comes back or Grier is fired and Ross makes McDaniel the coach and Head of football operations. I can see him doing that. He's a functioning idiot. When you give out game balls to a coach that is 7-8 and hadn't beat a good team in two years, you need psychological assistance. I wonder if Ross gives raises to his employees that lose him.momey in real estate?
You do realize that most injuries are basically bad luck right? Any player that took the hit to the knee that he did would’ve had the same exact injury. That’s the way it is and that’s a fact. Nobody has a crystal ball on who is going to get hurt and who isn’t.

They'd rather just collect a paycheck and have their off season fun while they watch REAL NFL TEAMS in the playoffs.
The last two years been different as they basically cruised into the playoffs both seasons even with losing 3 of the last 4 in 2022
